On Friday July 10, 2015, New York City will hold a monumental ticker tape parade up the Canyon of Heroes to honor the US Women’s Soccer Team which recently won the World Cup.
Client: This parade is notable for several reasons: this appears to be the first ticker tape parade ever held for a women’s sports team. There have been several ticker tape parades recently honoring sports teams, but never one for a women’s team. In fact, this is the first ticker tape parade honoring a female athlete since July 11, 1957, when Althea Gibson was given a parade to celebrate her victory at Wimbledon.
